So take the time to do your research, think about how function and design will add enjoyment to your family and guests, and try to think about what you want not only now but 10 or 15 years down the road.
I have attached an article I found in Architectural Digest about the newest kitchen designs of 2019. You may or may not like them but as you see differing designs and ideas you can start to formulate your own preferences and build around that.
